According to 1897/98 newspaper ads Abraham Strauss ( *1856 ) worked as a
businessman in Rothenkirchen. Prior to the dissolution of the Jewish congregation in
1906 Abraham bought part of the Flecke’s property including a residential building in
Huenfeld at ”Fuldastrasse” 8. Most likely, however, it was not until 1907 that he
moved his family, his wife Emilie née Kaufherr ( *1858 ) and the children to Huenfeld.
This move finalized the dissolution of the Jewish congregation of Rothenkirchen. In
Huenfeld Abraham set up a business and continued selling groceries.
