During the night of November 8 – 9, 1938, the Synagogue in Nentershausen was desecrated. The installation was disturbed, the sanctuary was ransacked, its contents thrown out, the Torah scrolls together with other religious symbols were burned. The motorized saw, which was brought along to cut the main beam support to collapse the building, broke during the attempt.
